If you're looking for an affordable piece of paradise then Isola Soli is for you.
This lovingly restored cottage is has everything you need for a great relaxing holiday. The splendid pool, the big garden and the spacious covered terrace are the perfect decor for some time off in a typical rural sicilian retreat.
The cottage features two apartments - which are NOT rented separately.
The apartment on the ground floor sleeps 4. If you need more space for two more guests you can additionally rent the apartment on the first floor that can have its own separate entrance.
From Isola Soli it is some 2 km to the village of Francavilla di Sicilia, where you'd probably go for groceries, pizza and gelato.
It will take you only 20 minutes to reach the beach/coast. Not far from Isola Soli there are several farmhouses ("agriturismo") that serve delicious local food.
To get there you must follow a narrow windy lane lined with orchard after orchard and beautiful old olivetrees and lava stone walls. Immerse yourself in the sicilian landscape.
In the garden is a wonderful large swimming pool surrounded by palms and other Mediterranean flora. (it just needs water as you can see!)
The apartment on the ground floor consists of 2 bedrooms (1 with a kingsize bed and 1 with 2 single beds), a bathroom with shower, toilet and sink and a cosy sicilian dining-room annex kitchen where there is a fireplace.
From the kitchen/dining room you get to a very large space that can be described as "living-porch" or "semi-open living room”.
This is a wonderful place and the inside-outside feel creates a great atmosphere for lingering sicilian lunches and relaxing.
On the first floor there’s the independent and complete snug apartment for 2.
This gorgeous little place consists of a living (with fireplace) annex kitchen, a sleeping room with king size bed, complete bathroom, and 2 terraces.
You can have lunch on the large covered terrace on a hot summer's day, and enjoy splendid views from the very panoramic terrace on the other side of the house, overlooking part of the Alcantara Valley and three villages: Francavilla di Sicilia (and the remains of it's norman castle), Castiglione di Sicilia (and part of Mount Etna) and Motta Camastra, where important parts of the Godfather movie were filmed.
There is electricity, gas to cook on, hot and cold running water, which is drinkable, and a washing machine. You only have to bring towels for personal use.
