Montesole
Situated in the hills, in the neighbourhood of the village of Graniti, is a very surprising, and rustic farming area called Contrada Favara, where cherry, almond and olive trees have since olden times grown in the fertile soil. Many of the villagers own land here and grow vegetables and produce wine for their own consumption.
“Montesole”, a comfortable house for two, stands in a beautiful part of the plateau. From the partially covered terrace there is an imposing view of Etna, the valley and the sparkling Ionian sea.
You can take fantastic walks from the house, along picturesque mountain paths. The first village you come to from the house is in the valley below, some ten minutes by car, and the beach is 20 minutes drive away.
For those who wish to enjoy peace and tranquility, and want to stay in a beautiful area, then Montesole is the perfect place.
Everything is on the ground floor: the living room, the large kitchen, the spacious bedroom with king-size bed and the bathroom with toilet, bidet, sink and shower.
The kitchen and bathroom have been renovated in April 2009.
Close to the house is a public fountain from which pure, clear water flows. This is where you draw your pure drinking water, because at this altitude there is no piped-water. In the house itself there is hot and cold running water for cooking and batheing, that comes directly from a water-tank in the cellar which is regularly filled.
There is electricity, gas to cook on, and a washing machine. You only have to bring towels for personal use.
