Casa Rinnira
Casa Rinnira is a spacious, well-furnished and comfortable house with a wonderful view of the vulcano, Etna. The house is named after the birds that herald the beginning of summer in Sicily, and nest here in huge numbers in the spring: the swallow, or as called in the local dialect, the “rinnira”.
The house lies on the provincial road connecting a group of old Etna villages, such as Piedimonte Etneo, Randazzo and Linguaglossa. The last village lies a stone’s throw away, with a characteristically Sicilian centre, a few small but good restaurants, bars and shops.
Within walking distance is a large supermarket for the daily shop. In 20 minutes you’re at the coast where there is a junction with the motorway and of course the beach.
Behind the house is a large garden with an olive tree orchard and lemon trees. This house is cosily furnished and has a fully-fitted kitchen with a dining table, and a large living-room. Directly next to the kitchen is a terrace with an original well; this is the sort of feature that makes the house a wonderful place to stay.
There is a large bedroom with a king size bed, and another bedroom with two single beds. The bathroom has a shower, toilet, bidet and sink.
There is electricity, gas to cook on, hot and cold running water, which is pure and drinkable, and there is a washing machine. You only have to bring towels for personal use.
