Villa Elena
At the foot of the east slope of Etna and near the coastal strip by the old Etna town Fiumefreddo, standing in the middle of a lemon tree orchard, is the lovely holiday home 'Villa Elena'.
What first attracts your attention is the spectacular views from the villa; the majestic vulcano can be seen from the back of the villa, and from the large and partly covered terrace at the front, the Ionian sea and the towns of Fiumefreddo, Giardini Naxos and Taormina.
If it is a clear day you can also make out the mainland of Italy; the province of Calabria.
Fiumefreddo is a five minute car ride away, the motorway is ten minutes away, and the beach only fifteen minutes.
The house has been gradually developed, and this can be seen in the different elements of the house which give it such a pleasant atmosphere.
You enter the house from the large, partially-covered terrace into the kitchen, although there are double doors, so the inside and out form one together.
The kitchen is fitted with all the appliances that you will need. There is a comfortably large bedroom with king-size bed, and a smaller bedroom with two single beds. It is a perfect house for families with children. The garden is great for kids to play, or for adults to find that perfect spot for reading
The house has two bathrooms; both containing a shower, toilet, bidet and sink.
The other advantages of Villa Elena are that: the parking space is in the shade and covered; the original pizza and bread oven in the side kitchen; and the bedroom doors that open out onto the terrace on the North side of the house.
There is electricity, gas to cook on, hot and cold running water, which is drinkable, and a washing machine. You only have to bring towels for personal use.
